It's the question we hear most often from customers considering DC fast charging for their hotel, parking facility, or logistics center, and the honest answer is: it depends on three variables that matter far more than the price of the charger itself.
The first is power output. A 40 kW charger and a 120 kW charger don't just differ in equipment price — they require a completely different upstream electrical installation: larger-gauge cabling, appropriately sized protection devices, and in many cases, a dedicated transformer substation if the building's contracted power isn't sufficient.
The second is civil works: the distance between the electrical panel and the charging point, whether trenching is required, whether the surface is asphalt or cobblestone, and whether protected conduit is needed. On many projects, civil works end up weighing more heavily on the budget than the charger itself.
The third is management: if you plan to charge for the service, manage access by user, or integrate the charger with a billing system, you'll need backend infrastructure, connectivity, and a management app — which adds a recurring cost but also opens up a revenue stream.
Our team carries out a free site assessment before providing any final figure, precisely because these three variables affect the budget more than the product catalog itself.
